But the Declaration would never pass muster as sufficiently politically correct....
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
Now of course we are enlightened enough to know that they just wanted in on the casino business, which is certainly merciless, but only regarding the destruction of paleface bank accounts.
More people need to familiarize themselves with the Declaration and the reasons behind it.
I have a copy of it that I bought at Arlington National Cemetery as well as a copy of the Constitution. Both displayed in my house. Those 2 documents are way more important than what some people might think.
"Some people" includes our current President, Congress and particularly the Supreme Court.
The list of injustices which inspired this action should have been included.
A lot of this stuff hits close to home...
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people. He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands. He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
Sorry, my statement was tongue in cheek humor. Sometimes my script blocker drops the emoticons in the 'Smilies' box when I post. I even repped you for posting it.
You could have also been arrested, prosecuted, jailed and hung or shot for publishing the same in 1776 by the men who flew the the Union Jack or the Jack and Stripes! If the idea of on-line publishing had been in existence in the 18th Century, I am sure the same would be true when it came up on the computers of his Magesty in Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle!
The way we are going, sometimes I wonder if the wrong side won. The idiots who have shaped this country into what it is today should have been hung. I wonder if Great Britain would take us back? I highly doubt it.
It is public domain, but your posting of it could be misconstrued by a government bureaucrat to be a threat to the security of the US, and so you would be kidnapped and spirited off somewhere to be tortured or attacked by a drone.
I'd be keeping an eye-to-the-sky if I would be you.
Sky-watching...

No, most have not. I was forced to waste an entire hour of precious class time teaching the Declaration to university students for two reasons -- one, they didn't now what it was; and two, they didn't know how to write a proper essay and the Declaration is the best example of an essay -- ever.

Your Supreme Court would disagree. Apparently you are not familiar with the concept of extra-Constitutionality. The argument is made that certain powers are inherent due to the fact that it was always so.
Some presidents who argued successfully were Lincoln, Truman, Clinton, Bush (the Younger) and Obama.
All of the following: the Stamp Act Congress, the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress and the Articles of Confederation provide powers to either the president or certain members of the cabinet or Congress.
If you wish to educate yourself, you can start with the Supreme Court's most recent ruling in Dalton v Specter, and then you can read about the exploits of Harry Truman and his attempts to nationalize the steel industry in the US, and then you can read about Lincoln and Bush the Younger and habeas corpus.
The over-throw of the government is an inherent power of the people as expressed in the Declaration of Independence, thus, any law enacted by Congress or any State legislature prohibiting insurrection or rebellion is automatically null and void, and unconstitutional.
Legally...

Watch what you wish for. Her Magesty's Government with its Offical Secret's Act and internal Security Laws, MI-5. Scotland Yard trumps the USA and could teach the USA a thing or too. Welcome to Clockwork Orange and the time of Big Brother (remeber Britons like Anthony Burgess and George Orwell wrote both of those books)
