The legislation, once implemented in its entirety, is expected to cover 30 million Americans currently lacking coverage.

The lack of medical insurance has had grave consequences for individuals and the nation. In 2010 alone, 26,100 people died because they had no health insurance — that amounts to 502 preventable deaths a week
Maybe. Maybe not. However, I'll make you and all the other liberal/socialists a deal:

Give up ALL of your pay, to social entitlement programs. Welfare, health care, etc. And you are living in a cardboard box, underneath some freeway overpass, and I'll back you. Yep. You and all the other liberals out there; I'll support you and back, WHEN/IF you put your money where your mouth is.

Give up everything, give all your money to charity, etc. Until then, I don't want to hear it. You want "equality" and health care for all? Give YOUR ALL. Don't force me to pay for some reject of society, just to make you feel better.

You liberals make me sick. You want, want, want and want some more. As long as SOME ONE else pays for it. You are ALL a bunch of lying POS. You won't give up your life style. You won't stop drinking, smoking, eating out etc (to take that money and "save" people). You want someone else to do it for you and say you live the "liberal" life. Save it.

Unintentional fall deaths
  • Number of deaths: 24,792
Motor vehicle traffic deaths
  • Number of deaths: 34,485
Unintentional poisoning deaths
  • Number of deaths: 31,758

FASTSTATS - Accidents or Unintentional Injuries

With or without health insurance, these people would have all died.

As Obama said "I could mandate everybody to buy a house, and that would solve the problem of homelessness. It doesn’t."

Well, then, they should have done the smart thing and gotten insurance.

Every single person in this country is capable of getting health insurance. Every one. Nobody is prohibited from getting insurance.

Nobody in this FREE country should have their property (hard earned money) take from them to pay for people that have chosen to spend their money on things other than their own health. If their health isn't that important to them, why should it be to me.

Why so many liberals think it's OK to take my money is truly beyond me.

Look at surgery to remove an appendix. It's about $28,000 but the surgery itself takes less than an hour and it's usually just an overnight stay afterward. If you paid 2 doctors and two nurses or surgical techs $400 an hour to perform the surgery, it would be $1600, and throw in that much for the costs of the CNA or medical assistant care for after the surgery, a couple of pain killers, it would still be less than $5000.
Ambulance chasing lawyers explains a lot of it. Funny, ObamaCare didn't address tort reform at ALL.

Apparently, we have to change the thread title to:

In 2010, lots of people died because they had health insurance.

I was wondering when someone would come up with something really stupid, and now we have it.

We have the statistics of people who died, and then list the number people w/o health insurance. This does mean they would have lived if they had insurance, nor does sit say that they would still go w/o and pay the ObamaCare fine....and died.

The OP tries to infer that if people have health insurance they wont die.

Sigh ........

We are talking about preventable causes. How many times does it have to be repeated?
