Republican presidents added 2.5 times more to the national debt than Democratic presidents.

With all this talk about the national debt, I would just like to hear republicans explain how this could be true.
Any attempts to claim this is false will be ignored as it is indisputable fact. I know you guys have a problem with that, but lets have some accountability here.

Since when do Presidents pass budgets, cut or increase taxes or authorize war?

It's not Republican Presidents who run up the debt.

It's Democratic Congresses that do that.

Not only do deficits shrink when Republicans control both houses of Congress, but unemployment continually declines as long as they are in charge.

From January 1995 through December 2000, unemployment declined from 5.6% to 3.9%, and from January 2003 through December 2006 unemployment declined from 5.8% to 4.4%.

wars and tax cuts for the super wealthy have done more to account for a deficit than welfare moms, students, seniors on medicare that is also a fact.. and they want to run on a platform that challenges the latter in bringing down the deficit...
people are realizing this and want someone to tackle the issue responsibly like clinton did.. it starts with a balanced budget. and the last time we had one was under a democrat over a decade ago

Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP are 21% of the budget while the entire defense budget is 20%.

In one year Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP cost as much as the entire Iraq War under Bush.

FTR, Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming to the alter of fiscal responsibility by Gingrich and Dole.

Our economy performs best when Republicans control both houses of Congress (Jan 1995 to Dec 2000 and Jan 2003 to Dec 2006) regardless of the President's party.

So the answer is less spending by both parties right?

um, you need to re-read your own source... you're citing 2011 budget expenditures to the bush years.. nice try though..

Considering one of my biggest criticisms of Bush was his reckless deficit spending, I stand by my criticism of Obama.

As a matter of fact, the majority of my criticisms of Obama are the same things I criticized Bush for.

New Spending under Bush vs. Obama: Results are Staggering | NJDC Blog

It doesn't matter.

The entire Iraq War under Bush cost less than Obama's failed stimulus.

That the cost of this war blew up the budget is a myth.

As for Bush's tax cuts, they were renewed by Obama following the 2010 *** kicking with help from the lame ducks and are now Obama's tax cuts for millionaires.
