Many married men engage in relationships using the internet to meet partners. This is not victimless at this point given STD's and cheating... do we also make dating and adult connection type web sites illegal?
Adultery's perfectly legal in the US. Thankfully we don't live under Sharia law.

The woman (known as a wife) only has to have sex with one man for the duration of their contractual obligations (called marriage) and she is basically paid in the form of a house, cash and prizes including other resources required to sustain her existence, money in her IRA every year, the potential to collect her "husband's" pension if he passes away before her and/or life insurance that he leaves her in the event of an early death, etc, etc
To somehow differentiate themselves from other prostitution-like arrangements, they typically wear pieces of metal around one of their fingers (rings) and both delusionally proclaim to have feelings for each other known as "love" and lie to each other every day that the charade and facade is allowed to continue that they found the person of their dreams and/or soul-mate.
Somtimes they even have offspring and then use them as an excuse as to why they are continuing the marriage past a certain point, maybe even well into their later years.
I am sorry that you have such a cynical view of relationships. This description does not fit my relationship at all.

Agreed. (you finally got one right ) Government should never try to be a moral compass. We've seen how immoral government can be using force and coercion to get what they "think" is the right thing to do.
In all but one state, prostitution is illegal. In it's simplest form, prostitution is having sex for money. However in many more states it's legal to film a pornography movie which involves paying men and women to have sex. The main difference is in the latter, the person isn't being paid to sexually please the customer. It's a fine distinction but is it enough of a distinction to warrant prostitution to continue to be a criminal offense in the majority of states? Personally, I feel it should be legalized, taxed, registration (to help prevent child prostitution), STD screening, and since it would no longer be an illegal occupation, ask them to report to the police any child prostitution they may know about to get help for the young girls and prosecute their pimps and Johns.
Sounds like a good reason to start another oversized, overzealous government agency

If prostitution was legalized, single mothers on welfare could be made to work in brothels rather than suck up the resources of the rest of us. Better being a ho than being on the government tit.
The porn industry/company's pay taxes. Prostitutes dont. As long as uncle sam gets his cut big brother doesnt seem to mind. All of a sudden an illegal act becomes legal once they benefit from it as well. Why is it that escort services are legal yet prostitution isnt? Once again.....licensed escort company's pay taxes!

It should be legal with no registration or special taxes. Registration would do NOTHING to prevent child abuse. Just like registration does NOTHING to prevent gun crimes.
Registration just makes politicians look as if they care.
