Well, today in Minnesota it will be 100 degrees with 500%(ya, five hundred) humidity.

ANYONE who goes to parades or any other outdoor event is a blithering idiot and should be locked up....and I make no distinction about whether it's a Fascist "Prove Your Loyalty by Waving a Flag" Repugnant or anyone who does it just "for fun".

Yes, they are. Conservatives have been doing this for years. Yet they neglect to mention that the 4th is celebrated patriotically throughout New England, New York and Washington--three of the bluest regions of the country. But like I said, the people who post these threads are morons, nothing more.
I am in NJ but I live in a republican county... doesn't mean if you are a blue state there are no republicans.

it is nice to see some loyalty instead of bashing America. Too many liberals today bash the constitution in the name of progessive ideas. I don't think liberals appreciate this song as the loyal flag wavers do who really love this country and want it to stay strong like this song represents

I'm a liberal democrat and I call BS. I love Independence Day. Might I suggest, OP, that you actually talk to some living breathing liberals and Democrats, and not just relying on some articles, so that you can actually get an accurate picture of us.

Harvard: July 4th Parades Are Right Wing
Democratic political candidates can skip this weekend's July 4th parades. A new Harvard University study finds that July 4th parades energize only Republicans, turn kids into Republicans, and help to boost the GOP turnout of adults on Election Day.

"Fourth of July celebrations in the United States shape the nation's political landscape by forming beliefs and increasing participation, primarily in favor of the Republican Party," said the report from Harvard.
Okay, so this article doesn't represent all Democrats and left-wing people, and also, I'm sure there are plenty of people who go to Harvard that would disagree with this article.

I'm liberal and I love America. Try actually talking to some of us and listening instead of just making assumptions about us.

actually, I do know of some liberals that do, but I also know of some conservatives that hate it too. both are more of the extreme left and right, but they both hate the 4th of July and any other patriotic day as well, such as 4/19 and thanksgiving.

A Hollywood Republican » Democrats Hate Independence Day
Democrats have been at the front lines of flag burning, championing the Pledge of Allegiance challenges, criticizing politicians that wear American flag pins, refusing to follow the protocols during the National Anthem (U.S. Flag Code), anti-nationalism and just about anything else that could be considered anti-patriotic. Sure, Democrats like concerts, baseball, barbecues and a good show, but do they really approve of the essence of Independence Day? In a world where Democrats overwhelmingly support political candidates like Barack Obama, those for larger stronger centralized governments, they simply cannot.

The 4th of July is about pride for the United States of America… it is about liberty from a large centralized government with unchecked powers… it is about freedom for the people who live in this nation… it is about the ability for Americans to have the ability to pursue happiness unencumbered by an over-licensing, over-registering, over-regulating, over-taxing and over-burdening government.

That is why Republicans love Independence Day and Democrats hate it.
The above is nothing more than Pure BS. There are as many Democrats celebrating the 4th as Repubs, sad to see that some Repugs actually believe they are the only Patriotic Americans, that is what happens when someone reads far too much Propaganda, they actually come to believe it.

Happy Independence Day to All.

yes, I see how the liberals love America. Wanting to change it into something it was not intended to be. A socialist republic that sucks the life out of America and puts it into huge debt. If they love their country they would do what JFK said.. "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.''
