Interesting point from the article that no one has mentioned is the low rate of federal subsidy of the present Medicaid recipients. Not sure if I can wrap my head around the pros and cons of the present subsidy, but maybe the states are concerned that they will wind up holding a larger portion of the costs as they are for the unexpanded Medicaid.

You have to scroll down. The first part of the interview is about the wildfires. Nothing about an outrigt rejection of Medicaid expansion.
