Comparing those countries and their resourses to the US is beyond a stretch.

That is like saying a homeless person does not have an alarm why should the mansion on the other side of town need one.

Fine.

Here's a list of neutral countries. If the U.S. remained at least neutral, we would save $$$ that can be diverted elsewhere:

Austria, Costa Rica, Finland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Combodia, & Moldova.

During Queen Elizabeth the firsts time she handed out privileges to all and sundry, all they had to do was go and steal some gold, usually from the Spanish whom had just stolen it from someone else.

Apart from the name of the country whats changed?

And how many of those countries are actually operated and ruled by other nations? Such as Mauritius, or the Marshall Islands, etc.

Think of the billions the U.S. saves that would have gone to funding our global military! The question is: What are the pros and cons of this hypothetical scenario?
that is a great idea. but i will have to give it some thought.
lets see if the bad guys are the only ones with guns, how difficult will their job be?

When the guy with the biggest weapons decides to let them rest, it sends a big message through the neighborhood. But if the guy with the biggest weapons acted like a jerk, the neighborhood would probably gang up on him to get back for his crimes. America cannot divest itself of its military--a very worthy ideal in my opinion--until it has completely mended its reputation. You cannot kick everyone else around and then suddenly announce "now I stand for peace" without someone calling you a liar. Americans don't value peace, they don't even know what it is. Their love of weapons and violence coupled with their penchant for ignoring the results of their actions will assure they get their comeuppance.

Once THAT conflagration is over (and its lessons learned), this 'no military' idea will become plausible and people will embrace it. It is definitely something to hope for.

"america does not value peace". you are probably right, but i want you to know i do. i also ask, israel loves peace they gave up gaza.
where is the peace? we could have turned other cheek after 911.
would that have stopped the attacks???. many celebration parties in dearborn mi after 911. if someone perceives you as the enemy and yo gotem on the ground when you let him up will he shake your hand? many a purse snatching has turned into a rape and murder because the victim was compliant.
