For those who renounce: an absolute ban on entering the US.

Im rather tired of people who exploit the US to become rich then dont feel like paying the tax. OTOH, Oddly I would abolish the inheritance tax and replace it with an absolutely enforced 1 time cap gains tax at death. Everything gets taxed once. No turning yourself into a corporation to live forever.
How did she exploit it ?
And she was paying taxes all along. But the line got crossed. As was said..you can only tax people so much before they revolt. The rich will revolt by leaving the country.

So how much she gonna give to Obama for the 2012 election?
Why would she give anything?

You republicans always say, "if you don't like it where you are, MOVE".

Now you're outraged when someone takes you up on it?

LOL

So a Democratic contributor uses the current tax laws legally and the right is up in arms.
Romney used the current tax laws on his investments and paid around 15% and the left is up in arms.

How are folks so blind to their hypocritical thoughts and views that they continue with this nonsense year after year? It's actually kind of embarrassing when you think about it. People are duped every election year then seem to forget 2-4 years later when it happens once again.

There's gonna be one smart country somewhere that will welcome the rich and woe to all the other countries.
Let me guess, Monaco?

So, now we're down to 399 filthy rich people to tax since one just left the country.

Default Denise Rich.....dumps America to save $$$

Socialite, songwriter Denise Rich renounces U.S. citizenship - CNN.com

My biggest disappointment with Bill Clinton were some of his 11th hour pardons of people like her husband.

Now, this 1%er is dumping the US to save on her tax bill because I guess a billion doesn't go as far as it once did.

Her excuse I find particularily lame.

Gotta' be a Democrat.

As for her notorious list of gifts to the Clintons—$7,000 worth of furniture for their Chappaqua, New York, house; $450,000 for the Clinton Library; more than $100,000 for Hillary’s Senate campaign; more than $1 million for the Democratic National Committee, not to mention many millions more raised at Democratic fund-raisers in her apartment—Rich dismisses all that airily as a piffling amount. About the furniture for Chappaqua (two coffee tables and two chairs), she says, “Everybody gave furniture. There was a list going around from the decorator.”
In her eyes there was no quid pro quo whatsoever. “The truth is, there are a lot more people who gave a lot more money. Of course it gave me access [to the Clintons],” she admits
