GOP unnerved by Democrats' candid camera techniques - Alex Isenstadt - POLITICO.com

I'm not going to name the political party of the politicians because it's not important. What is important is that no one should have this happen to them, not Republicans and not Democrats. Following the politician with a camera while going grocery shopping, hiding out in the bushes video recording not only the politician's home, but also his/her address, neighbors' homes, vehicle with plates, and other such stuff should be off limits. I don't agree with such behavior used by the paps against celebrities and it borders on criminal to do this against politicians. Not only are those who do this crazy, but there are other people out there who are even more crazy and are willing to act upon this information.

It's hard to give a hoot considering the quality of representatives these days

1. politicians don't live alone at home. usually the politician is away and the spouse and children are at home. Your feelings toward the politicians are meaningless. The spouse and children should be off limits.
2. by stalking and hiding out in the buses, you're also creating a threatening situation for not only the family of the politician, but also of their neighbors.
3. them being a public figure is not a just cause for stalking and publishing online private information such as their home address, photos of their home and neighborhood, and daily habits (something used when planning an attack on someone)

If they aren't under investigation for a crime then yes. Locally we had a girl come up missing. Piecing together area video, they began looking for a particular type of truck. Local law enforcement found out a convicted sexual predator had that type of truck. Not long after the video was on the news, his truck was found burned in another state and he bought another one just like it. He also had not registered as a sexual predator which was a violation. Before they had arrested him, they had tracked his movements and learned his schedule. They were hoping he could lead them to her or her body. When they discovered he was getting ready to leave town, they swopped in for the arrest. He's now awaiting trial for kidnapping and murder.

"Crime" is a pretty vauge term.
Maybe these politicians are suspected of crimes by the people who employ them (taxpayers)?

For anyone I caught following me around with a camera, I'd hire someone to immediately begin doing the same to them. If I thought it necessary, I'd have such an assistant with me at all times. They'd follow them around roughly one day.

...Then I'd post all their information as well as the video on my website.

I'm sure it is legal, what they're doing. And I know they're just looking for some dirt on them because they don't have enough faith in their favorite candidate to win the next election any other way. But I agree with the OP; it's far from decent.

Cameras on street corners, drones overhead, mandatory pat downs and x-rays when travelling, wire taps and requests for info without warrant... all brought to us by politicians.
Sorry, no sympathy for the devil.
