The owners of Hercules Industries won an injunction to stop the Obama administration’s health care mandate that requires employers provide coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception — a requirement they say violates their Catholic beliefs.

A federal court issued an order today that halts enforcement of Obamacare’s abortion pill mandate against Hercules Industries, a Colorado family-owned business.

A federal court issued an order Friday that halts enforcement of the Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate against a Colorado family-owned business while an Alliance Defending Freedom lawsuit challenging the mandate continues in court.

The mandate has generated massive opposition from pro-life groups because it forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions, to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception under threat of heavy penalties.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys obtained the first-ever order against the mandate on behalf of Hercules Industries and the Catholic family that owns it. The administration opposed the order, arguing, contrary to the U.S. Constitution, that people of faith forfeit their religious liberty once they engage in business.

Here's what the government's arguemnt is based on: “This cannot be,” the motion reads, citing the 1982 case of United States v. Lee, in which the court held that self-employed Amish workers could be exempt from Social Security taxes, but did not extend the exemption to Amish employers. “Indeed, the Supreme Court has recognized that, ‘[w]hen followers of a particular sect enter into commercial activity as a matter of choice, the limits they accept on their own conduct as a matter of conscience and faith are not to be superimposed on the statutory schemes which are binding on others in that activity.”

the op's opening statement is severely flawed. Mis-characterizes the mandate (there is no abortion inducing drugs covered under the mandate) and shows that he never even read the court decision (taking all his news from a pro-life bias news website)

The company didn't "beat" anything. the lawsuit is continuing. The company won an INJUNCTION against being levied PENALTIES if it didn't offer its employees insurance/health coverage that covers birth control.

but clap for a company that wants to deny coverage for preventative health care (you know, catch ailments before they become a problem for their employees) .

Good..government should not trample over religious beliefs.

Separation of church and state works both ways.

Well you don't work for them do you ? So then it's none of your business.
Those employees were there before Obamacare and don't seem to have a problem with their current benefits.

That's the spirit. Equate a fetus with a cancer.

Where did I state that a fetus is like cancer?

You do know that preventative health care covers everything, including the reproduction systems of both men and women?

Like prostate cancer? Erectile dysfunction, prostate problems.
Like pap smears?
Like mamograms?

Funny how you are the one to associate fetus = cancer

This president is just one Constitutional violation after another. how many times has the courts struck down his laws, all or in part, as unconstitutional anyway? I think this is the 5th or 6th time.
