"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor—he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation—he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city—he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared...."
- Marcus Tullius Cicero, 42 B.C.E.
. . .
Tyranny has come to America care of the so-called "Tea Party" activists. They are simpletons: they are always bringing up the "founding fathers" and the Constitution - as if any of them ever read the Constitution, much less understand its provisions for the foundation of our government. "We want our country back!" they cry. It’s laughable. They are like the evangelical Christians that misquote the gospels and ask, insipidly: "What would Jesus do?" They are stooges and shills for those who would use them to their own cross-purposes - those who would undermine the very foundations of our democratic institutions. (There are some that believe they have the right to take up arms against their lawfully constituted government!) They are not patriots, they are not loyal citizens, they are subversives.
Don't flatter yourself. Posting on an internet forum doesn't make one a political activist or a rebel.
You confused sarcasm with flattery. I leave self-aggrandizing to the Liberals, as they are much more suited to such nonsense.

I'd say true progressives are the most dangerous people alive. They believe that all people should be equal, even if they aren't equally worthy. No Republican, in his right mind, would come close to sharing views with the true progressive who is bent on any given flavor of Marxism.

Tyranny is already here and it is wrapped in the robes of judges who decide in favor of their ideologies rather than what the people want, and then go to Hawaii on the very same peoples dime. It is here with an INC. after it and called an International Corporation. It is here with a President who truly hates capitalism and all the US stood (intentional past tense) for. Tyranny is wrapped in a flag, but there will be no cross, no star of David, no Moon and Star. It's going to be a Hammer and Sickle, and rushed in by ignorant people who never look to past to help guide the future. Unless it is stopped, You will live in a world where you owe your existence to the work you're able to do for the nanny state. Oh yes, Tyranny is already here.
If you think the USA is a tyranical country, you should go visit China, North Korea, Iran, and a dozen other countries.
This is precisely the problem with America today. We routinely point to the worst examples of government and say "at least we ain't them!" There was a time when Americans were actually willing to put in the effort to be the best at something. Today, we accept mediocrity, because that's all we are willing to work for.
