I am all for debate; but it confuses me as to why at this forum and others i read the total attempted vilification of Dem's and Independents that oppose their ideas.Daily the rhetoric amps up. Sure i see a few dems doing it as well but every election i see repub's acting so mad and like i am doing something to them. It is my country too; so why the acting so superior?

Both sides do it and the bigger problem is those who can only see a problem from one side.

Psychologically, in Republicans and other right-wingers we are dealing with people who possess no empathy or morality. They can't use logic to discuss an issue, so they use personal insult in their frustration. They are similar to other fascist groups. Historically they've mobilized their members to kill and physically attack union members and their families, liberals, gays, blacks, etc.

The war they are conducting against American democracy has caused a great deal of damage to the economy and peoples' lives. But they can be defeated. Americans are better armed than they were in the past. If the miners and their families at Ludlow had been armed you would have seen a different outcome. Same with Matthew Shepard and Rachel Corrie.

These forums are good in that they give people a chance to discuss and vent, but it's rare that I've encountered a rightie who isn't a bully and who can actually discuss something intelligently. In fact I can only recall one in ten years.

Like this as well.

You know the kind, those emails endlessly forwarded and sometimes disguised as "jokes" (about "illegals", the national debt, gays, minorities, guns, Obama, etc.). So is there a liberal equivalent to this, or is it mostly just conservatives who send this kinda stuff? And if you're not a conservative or republican, and yet still receive a lot of this anyway, how do you handle it... just ignore them, ask not to receive 'em anymore, make a comment, or... ??? (and how does that go over)?!

Thank you for a good example of how both sides are guilty. The left demonizes the right also.

Maybe you'd agree...it might be said that the right sees Pelosi and Reid as having set the rules. Those two are classic examples.

Not true. I certainly feel sorry for you that you are so jaded and blind with partisan hate.

Show us some from the Dems. I am talking about regular people like us not political figures.I disagree that Pelosi Reid sat the rules. Repub's have been trying to vilify me at election time for years.

Their "brand" is in it's demise and that makes them angry.
