>"Kelli Space is 23. She graduated from high school in 2005, and went to Northeastern University—"the first person in my family (including extended family!) to attend college," she says. Unfortunately, that may have deprived her of the opportunity to have someone tell her that the American college dream isn't all it's cracked up to be. Kelli emerged in May of 2009 with her diploma, and..." <

Northwestern is $50K a year? We REALLY need to tackle college by "encouraging" (sorry really forcing) kids to do 2+2 degrees with the first two at comm college. Also look into Udacity model perhaps with the tests given at the comm colleges to enforce the tests being real.

>4.7% is the percentage of working age persons with degrees in the United Kingdom
4.6% is the percentage of working age persons with degrees in Germany
3.6% is the percentage of working age persons with degrees in France
3.1% is the percentage of working age persons with degrees in Spain<

True because all of the above have strong unions, minimum wages, and robust apprenticeship programs for Joe Sixpack. In the US, Joe Sixpack is largely, screwed. There are many posts on these boards (not necessarily from the quoted poster) saying basically, "dont have a masters degree? you deserve to live in a refrigerator box"

And the football coach taught geometry, where I learned more about football and just about passed geometry.

There are plenty of laws and regulations on the books, they just aren't enforced. Do you think ignoring the laws and allowing 800,000 more people into the job market when our unemployment is so high was a good idea? The laws are there, they are just ignored. I don't think that was a Conservative that made those decisions.
And now they want to cut the defense budget and $3M jobs will be eliminated and on unemployment. Oh yeah, Big O, you're a genius at job creation and stimulating the economy. The states are under water now with all the extra unemployment, disability and welfare. You even gave Geithner a job when he owed big bucks to the IRS. No penalty for him, but average Joe gets nasty letters and fined up the wazoo.

The only way to stop Obama from wasting our money on his ideological ideas -- is to get rid of him.

While America keeps slipping in international standings in both Math and Reading, the homefront is now telling all kids they are going to be techno weenies.

If you can't read at your grade level and can't do Math then you are not going to become the next techno-weenie.

There were but we rewrote them. Now everyone is a winner so the standards are to the lowest common denominator. Our world standings show that.
