President Obama's tax hikes on wealthy Americans could, if enacted, end up hitting traditionally Democratic "blue" states harder than Republican-leaning "red" states, according to two reports released this week.

Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and California — all blue states — would suffer the most, according to a Tax Foundation report.
The reason, the study notes, is that these states have higher shares of wealthy taxpayers than the rest of the country. In each of them, those making more than $200,000 — the taxpayers targeted by Obama's hikes — account for more than 56% of all federal income taxes paid in those states. The U.S. average, the report notes, is 50%.

Good! They deserve it.

When the tax hits come, maybe those Republicans left living in these liberal hellholes will have the good sense to finally leave.

Perhaps it will drive the rest of their businesses into other parts of the country. The state bankruptcies would soon follow. And then the final adjustment of state and local government workers' pay.

Ummm it's pretty well known that the wealth generated by "blue" states subsidizes the poorer red states.... and generally the wealthier a state, the more wealthy people that live there. The wealthier people are, the higher their taxes will be.

It's not really that complicated... and unlike the crazy conservative Republicans out there, the left actually enjoys being patriotic enough to pay the taxes required of them to help fund and run this country.

This makes no sense. The tax increase is a federal tax increase... therefore no matter where they live in the country, they'll have the same tax increase.

Although, I highly doubt they'd be able to get the same quality of talent to work for them in Mississippi than in Massachusetts.

How is this a good thing? You do realize that the blue states give money to the poorer red states. They get back less money from the government then they give.

Actually, no. Because of the red state governors' reluctance to extend medicaid, red state richies will wind up funding the blue states.

One time I'm happy to live in Illinois.

Uhhh... perhaps you should educate yourself on the GDP of states.

The vast majority of states with low GDPs are red states.

The vast majority of states with high GDPs are blue states.

Good one!

As Obama demands rich Americans pay more in taxes, the IRS reveals 36 Obama aides are far behind in their taxes by Andrew Malcolm - Investors.com

Quote:
How embarrassing this must be for President Obama, whose major speech theme so far this campaign season has been that every single American, no matter how rich, should pay their "fair share" of taxes.
Because how unfair -- indeed, un-American -- it is for an office worker like, say, Warren Buffet's secretary to dutifully pay her taxes, while some well-to-do people with better educations and higher incomes end up paying a much smaller tax rate.

Or, worse, skipping their taxes altogether. A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama's executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven't paid any share, let alone their fair share.
I won't even get into Geithner and all the other liberal hypocritical swine who don't pay their taxes.

Where are the AMERICANS????? If you wish (and can afford) to pay more taxes....DO SO! There is nothing stopping you from giving every penny you have to the government. If government continues to take and take and take, there will soon be nothing left.....and then, where will EVERYONE be? In abject poverty.

Yes...taxes are required to protect our country...and really, that's the ONLY thing they should be used for. That's the only reason government exists...to protect our nation. America was NOT founded to give handouts to anyone who wants them. Or to support other governments. Or to stifle the people's "will to work"....yet, that's exactly what's happening.

I fear for my children's future, and my own.
