Her dad really messed her up. That man has always had a bad reputation in Hollywood. His personality seem very cold. It's like he's incapable of giving or showing anyone real love that isn't sex.
Annette would have something to say about that. Unless of course you think she's a complete boob.
This is where the Hollywood Liberal thinkers get tested. I would have thought that Annette Benning and Warren Beatty, given their political bent, would have preferred all their children to be this way.
You would think so -- but they must be hypocrits.
I read once that even the very liberal Cher took it quite hard when Chastity decided not to follow in her footsteps and become a sexpot floozey and instead went the opposite direction.

What a dumb post!
Supporting a person's right to be doesn't mean you don't recognize the difficulties that come with some lifestyles. Why would any parent choose for their child to live a life filled with adversities??

Liberals don't advocate and ultimately practice acceptance of difference because it's the easy thing to do. Doing what is right is not always easy. What is easy, however, is to dismiss difference and fall back on traditional conceptions of "normal" and "abnormal" as social conservatives do.
Being open to transsexuality doesn't mean you specifically want your child to be trans.
A lot of parents who are open to homosexuality and transsexuality do take it hard when they find out their own child is gay or trans. When I came out to my parents (as lesbian), they took it hard, not because they had a problem with my being gay, but because they didn't want to see me having to face more adversity.
A lot of parents of trans children express having to grieve the idea of their child as one gender as they get to know their child as another gender. It's a natural process to go through and isn't the same as being against transsexuality on principle.
I understand what you mean. So many of our friends have adult gay children. After the initial blow, the parents are fine with it as long as their child is thriving and happy and in a loving relationship.
The friends who are not doing well with their lesbian daughter is because the girl's partner is a lazy, uneducated bum, not because she is gay.

Filled with adversities? These aren't people who know adverstities. They are the ultra-rich. They live in a Hollywood world where $80,000 for a designer outfit that they'll wear once is nothing. Their kids don't face adversities -- they have nothing but the best that money can buy and you can tell that this girl was quite amused by identifying with a trans man, a faggy queen. She's rather pleased by all that, she feels it makes her unique and special.
So why was it difficult for these ultra liberals to accept their daughter wants to be a man? Are they some kind of hypocrits?
They are probably concerned about their offspring dealing with insults and bigotry from people that are insensitive and cruel.
