I would really like to know the underlying reasoning behind a push to make people dependent on the government.
And they aren't happy with citizens dependent but now immigrants as well ?

One would think the government would be pushing programs to make people independent and able to function in life by themselves.

You should read your own links:

Well it is now and they are not answering to Congress who asked for paperwork on this "obscure" program as they put it themselves.

So let's see how fast the Dems move to shut this down. We should not be promoting dependence on the government to our immigrants.

Oh, I see. When it was the Bush administration, neither you nor the Congress was too concerned. Now that Obama's name can be attached to it, it's suddenly a major issue....right?

Nope..until this came out no one knew except those few in the USDA that went into this partnership.

Just like the Spanish ad for foodstamps..if the public voices their outrage loud enough something will get done.

It's impossible to know everything the government does, but when a bad thing comes to light people need to speak out. Don't you agree ?

A Democratic administration (President Clinton) had shut all immigrants out of the Food Stamp program, and a Republican one (President Bush) opened it back up to qualify them...
