It's good to hear that. Why do some people have to make everything political? Pretty sad

First and foremost he is a parent. Most parents thoughts Of the tragedy will also include the well being of their own children. I think it's perfectly natural.

Maybe he had absolutely no interest in politics. When did everything start to involve politics? I know this board has politics as its basis, but even with the mainstream news everything wants to get colored via a political prism.....see ABC news this morning wrongly identifying the shooter as a tea party member.

Don't like Obama but don't feel there's anything wrong with mentioning his daughters.

You're right...this has nothing to do with politics, gun control or education. This is simply a mentally ill subject with no morals and no code!

Exactly! All loving parents are concerned for the safety of their children. They also frequently mention them in their daily conversations. Why should a president be the exception?

Honestly, I think it is weird to try to link "liberal-this" and "liberals that" to this situation. First of all, you talk about sciences as if Conservatives can't possibly have an interest and appreciation in sciences and being smart. That in itself makes Conservatives look bad by the way you are talking about liberals.

You're just as bad for posting a thread like this, LOL.

I heard on local Denver news that he had failed his comprehensive exams and thought he would be asked to leave CU.

Why would it be wrong? My kids were the first thing I thought of when I turned on the news this morning. I can't imagine the h*ll that some of those parents in Colorado are going through right now, and the trauma that the survivors will have to deal with. When the president referenced his girls, he said exactly what every other parent in this country was thinking.
