There are an estimated 270,000,000 handguns in the U.S.. Obviously that doesn't include long guns, shotguns, etc.

The ship has sailed on laws being able to protect...

Gun toting states have higher murder rates.

Yuuup.

The fact that CCWs were prohibited in the theatre didn't help matters either.

I have been in the "alternate reality" of a nighttime firefight. It is very confusing but if you keep your cool you can distinguish friends from enemy.

But never mind. This incident didn't actually happen because the theatre is a "gun free zone".
Exactly. I believe there are already laws making it illegal to bring a gun into a crowded public place. Gun laws simply do not work.

I suspect the shooter has had a life of drugs -- legal or illegal kinds of drugs.

It may have been a little harder for him and taken a little longer, but he would have found another way, IMO.

Interdasting. Have you pulled up crime stats in Vermont where you don't even need a permit to carry?

There is no prohibition of CCW in that theater. At least there wasn't when I went there last month.

Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, South Carolina, FLORIDA are even safer than Japan
Conservatives and their ignorance
