There are an estimated 270,000,000 handguns in the U.S.. Obviously that doesn't include long guns, shotguns, etc.

I have been in the "alternate reality" of a nighttime firefight. It is very confusing but if you keep your cool you can distinguish friends from enemy.
How about 5, or perhaps 10 of them? How about if the CCW holder was behind the shooter and had a clear shot at their head that wasn't protected by the vest?

Exactly. I believe there are already laws making it illegal to bring a gun into a crowded public place. Gun laws simply do not work.
I suspect the shooter has had a life of drugs -- legal or illegal kinds of drugs.
How and where and how easy he acquired his guns might be addressed to the NRA but dedicated mass murderers have surfaced around the world and the illegality of gun ownership in those countries didnt prevent a massacre.The Question would be if the USA had major gun restrictions would this nutter just have bought his weapons on the black market and done the murders anyway?
It may have been a little harder for him and taken a little longer, but he would have found another way, IMO.
You're right. Chicago is a gun free zone, so those murders happening there are just our imagination and a conspiracy from the media.
