Is something else in play here? This guy was extremely intelligent, and was researching neuro-physiology, ie, mind control - the same 'science' used by the military in psy-ops. Was he involved in something that he could not ultimately control?
Did you ever hear of the term EDUCATED FOOL? This is not that complicated.
. In my opinion, guns such as the semi-automatic assault rifle used in this attack should be heavily regulated, if not banned for all but law enforcement. .
Why should law enforcement have semi-automatic weapons? More to the point - why should they be the only ones with priveleges to carry such firearms?
By the way - there is no such thing as a semi-automatic "assualt rifle" - don't fall into the negative connotation semantics trap - unless you already think that is an accurate description - then you may be beyond help.

It is my understanding that the theater in colorado had a ban on weapons. Essentially all law abiding citizens kept their guns at home. Holmes illegally snuck his guns in through the back door.
Az Repubs want to allow firearms in government buildings, school campuses and any other public venue. They are crazy.
It's far too late for the U.S. to think of banning weapons. You've had far too many years of politicizing the 2nd amendment into being a de-facto interpretation of your indiviual rights and freedoms.
So in your mind - the first 10 amendments to the United States Constitution had nothing to do with individual rights and freedoms?

Why? A person carrying concealed could have mitigated both the Littleton and Aurora tragedies. Why do you want to to hinder the possible prevention of 25 deaths in those two cities alone?

Yep - all the blame goes to James Holmes - but the way he apparently did this - by propping open a theater's emergency exit - makes one wonder why there were no sirens or lights affiliated with the door opening. Seems like that should be a standard feature because those doors should not open unless there is an emergency - in this case it was an emergency - but 71 people didn't know that until it was too late.
