I'm 30 years old, and i think among people my age and younger, more and more people are becoming Liberal Republicans. We want economic growth, business opportunity, etc. I think we can all see that the Obama economic plan is not working, to put it mildly. And obviously we all enjoy tax cuts. But we are opposed to the old-school Conservative Christian "values" of beating your kids or persecuting gay people.

So are Liberal Republicans the wave of the future? Agree or disagree?

I don't think Liberal Republicans exist, because if they did I would be one, yet I have not found any. That last Liberal Republican I knew was my grandfather, he knew Nelson Rockefeller, and was clearly in that camp. He passed in '04. With that said I think the most common thing among people my age, and I am in my mid-20s, would be moderate-to-liberal Democratic.

They might be the wave of the future, but I have yet to see any of them emerge yet.

According to Pew, people under 30 have a more positive view of socialism than capitalism. Make of that what you will.

I am very liberal with most social issues, but finacially, I'm VERY conservative and believe in the smallest possible government.

I don't believe "social" issues or morality issues have ANY place in politics at all. None. Zip.

I am NOT 'young'!

I wouldn't call them liberal republicans, but I've noticed with younger republicans they are more prochoice, and believe in gay marriage, but lean republican on most other issues.

Libertarian is the way to be, hopefully more and more youngsters will pick up on it.

Ron Paul a libertarian leaning republican (if not outright libertarian) has much support with the young people of this nation.

Yes, some of the younger republicans can basically be described as libertarian.

Republicans and Democrats have more in common than Republicans and Libertarians. I'm a Libertarian and I detest the Republican and Democratic Parties. I have also noticed a movement among the younger crowd towards Left and Right Libertarianism.

If young people ever hope to have jobs they'd better vote for Romney.

The social stuff is secondary. If someone wants to be gay they can be gay no matter which Party is elected into the White House.

Nobody is chasing down gays and giving them hell. Actually they wrongly have some extra laws in place for them that the rest of Americans don't have.

Who beats their kids? Was that your upbringing?
Say what?
