anyone been to Cambodia?

$1 billion a year of aid goes there!

and the place is an absolute joke - more top of the range SUV's, Mercedes, etc.. than in Key West or Beverley Hills!
(whilst the majority of people there have nothing)

yet, still the corrupt sham continues!

pull the plug and let nature have it's way.
NGO's are destroying cambo. but theyve done a lot more damage to haiti. suppose one flies into port au prince. cheap hotel? US$80+/night. prostitute? US$100+. considering this countries economic state neither of these things should cost more than $10-15. but the influx of all teh NGO and redevelopment money ruins it.

cambodia has problems as well, but finally the NGO scum are starting to leverage over the govt w all the chinese money coming in. go back to the west scumbags

If it bothers you that much, just stay in Thailand and enjoy your $15 prostitutes.

one of the main issues though is that it pushes the prices up for the locals.

food goes up , rent, transport etc.. all because of the influx of foreign 'aid' money that only goes to the rich.

So the poor, that are supposed to be being helped, actually lose out.

Guys with guns get all the cash in places like Haiti, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, etc.

Why give cash to these people?

So, it's better to just do nothing and let 'em suffer?

Let Quebec and France deal with Haiti: they're pretty much "French" tho Haitians are usually "Black".

But being "Black" ain't an excuse to be messed up. I say that cause Dom Republic is the same as Haiti race wise but they're doing much better and many Haitians in the US do well, even better than many American Blacks.

There are a lot of Christian groups in Haiti doing good work.

Liberals prefer to give tax money to thugs in 3rd world countries than deal with Christian groups with feet on the ground.

Huh? Liberals? Is it the liberals who have supported propping up the Saudi royal family for decades? Who threw money at Hosni Mubarak, the Emir of Kuwait, Pervez Musharraf and, yes, even Saddam Hussein?
