Video captured by a KCAL-TV crew showed a chaotic scene in which officers fired beanbag rounds as some people ducked to the ground while others scattered screaming. A man is seen yelling at an officer even as a weapon is pointed at him; two adults huddled to shield a boy and girl. Meanwhile, a police dog ran into several people sitting on the grass, including a woman and child in a stroller, before biting a man in the arm.
I'll bet that wouldn't have happened in a white, middle class community. The southern california police are increasingly violating citizens' rights. Did you see the video of the Long Bch police destroying the medical marijuana dispensary in a gestapo syle? The Dem Calif Atty General needs to get involoved.
Looks like they should have called out ICE agents instead of police. The video doesn't show what was happening before the police started shooting bean bags or rubber bullets. The K9 officer should be suspended pending internal affairs investigation. He should not have let his dog loose. If the dog got away from his control, how and why?

I wish Americans held their police to the same standards. What about our protesters being shot and beaten? The police initiated the violence in that movement.

I did a quick google search and found the other tv stations and reporters include that the police action was in response to the crowd throwing bottles and rocks at them while they were investigating an earlier police shooting of a suspect that was fleeing from them. The neighbors report that the police over reacted to the situation when they cornered the suspect. Other details are still unknown still and the police are trying to determine if the shooting was justified or not.
The crowd was attacking the investigators and the police responded with crowd control measures. The police admit the dog got away from the officer and was not under control. The video posted here supports that and it appears the officer is trying frantically to regain control of the dog rather than directing it into the crowd. I can believe that the dog was unintentional and an unfortunate accident.
Unfortunately, innocents often are caught in the way of crowd control response due to the confusion and lack of identified individual actors. The actions of some of the people in the crowd throwing the rocks and glass triggered a response that got a lot of the others hurt. The anger should be directed at the irresponsible crowd members rather than the police for creating the situation.
If it can be shown that individual police officers acted inappropriately, they should be disciplined. The general approach they took is sound and reasonable, even if some of the injured were innocent of anything but being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Police are not always able to completely control the scene and limit actions to deserving criminals, and in crowd situations it is often not possible to know who is dangerous and who is not. In crowd scenarios, everyone has to be treated as if they are a threat until it can be determined they are not. Not a great scenario, but if you were put in it and expected to control it, how would you react?
Thanks for posting that. As usual there is more to the story than we are initially told from someone who has an anti-cop agenda to push.
