I live in the Arizona desert. Everyone I know has one around here. They are tools here. If I lived in an apartment in NYC I wouldn't have one. I'd have a Glock with a very hi-cap magazine.
My question to you is, why do you want to ban them because you don't like them? What gives you the right?
I guess to be fair, many people here do not understand different cultures. The idea that two or three families will get together on a Saturday and drive out to the local desert range to target shoot is just alien to you. Let me tell you how it is. The kids come. the women pack picnic baskets with fried chicken and potato salad. It's one big tailgate party. The men show off their guns and set up targets consisting of big empty cat litter containers with targets pasted to the sides on top of old milk crates. We fill our old 1 gallon milk jugs with water and set them 100 yards away on the side of a hill. We set up charcoal briquettes on shotgun shells for the kids to shoot with the 22 rimfires. They explode in a clowd of black smoke. We shoot, we eat, the women take turns practicing with the home defense weapons. We have a lot of fun. we don't kill anything. We clean up after ourselves and enjoy each others company. We've been doing this for years and years. It's a way of life that is probably alien to you, but it doesn't make it any less relevant. Why would you want to ban this activity?
Why do we have to have a "reason"???? The constitution doesn't say we have a right to bear "certain" arms or only those that we have a reason to have, it says we have the right to bear arms.... period.
I have no idea what your post is driving at. What is your agenda? Do you want to ban guns, limit guns or have everyone have anything they want? Do I have to go over the Supreme Court ruling again for the umpteenth time? Reasonable restrictions are constitutionally fine. Propose some and lets talk. Your postulation of drones and robots is the height of disinformational folly. What is your point?
I used to think it was reasonable to restrict types of guns, the big ugly scary ones, but I have changed my tune. Liberals are never reasonable, and if we give an inch, it's the camels nose under the tent. We now know that our gov't no longer supports this nations sovereignty, and looks to the UN for global guidance. We also know that the Small Arms Treaty, among others, is in the works. We also know what Fast n Furious was all about, the Second Amendment. At some point, our law enforcement or military personell will be charged with disarming us. We need to be able to match force with force, when that day comes.
That was my point.
Of course not. But why are people allowed to purchase ARs?
What is so whoopy special about an "AR"? It is a simple semi-auto rifle that shoots a .223 cal round that is measly compared to my Dad's Model 8 Remington .30 cal semi-auto deer rifle that was made in 1907. And while we're discussing stupid stereotypes, why is a 9mm pistol somehow more "evil" than a good old, all American .45?
Of course not. People who want to commit such acts of violence and disregard for life will do it regardless.
Wait until we're dealing with suicide bomber's, then what will the anti-gun plan be...........If people want to cause harm they will do it with or without a gun.
Of course not. But why are people allowed to purchase ARs?
For the same reason they are "allowed" to buy Fords and Toyotas.
(You know, don't you, that cars kill a lot more innocent people than guns, right?)
