Savannah Dietrich Doesn't Face Contempt Charge For Revealing Names Of Sexual Attackers
I'll provide a quick summary:
-Two juvenile males were charged with raping a girl
-The animals took photos of her being raped and shared them with their friends
-They were taken to court and got a plea bargain, and in turn a light sentence
-The victim tweets the names of her attackers along with photos
-The defense attorneys tried to charge her with contempt of court (since apparently these poor widdle rapists deserve privacy) but dropped the charges when the entire public realized that would be ****ing stupid
Good grief, I'm glad the defense attorneys weren't TOTAL scumbags. Does anyone else find it god damn absurd that these two rapists are afforded more rights than a rape victim?
And what about when they are wrongfully convicted? Pleading guilty to probation, or facing jail time, some times people choose option a instead of facing a jury.
Now, I don't know the full details of this case, but criminal justice is based on every situation, and the justice system is far from perfect.
Juveniles are particularly protected. Just the way it is. Its as much to protect the victim to silence EVERYONE not just some.
And again, we are talking about Kentucky, hardly a liberal bastion.

Since they took photos and shared them with friends I think the odds that they were wrongfully convicted are low.
Also in the case of a wrongful conviction it seems to me a wrongfully convicted adult would suffer worst consequences.

I get that, these guys are probably guilty as sin. I can't say that definitively because I don't know the full details of the case.
But we don't make laws that go case by case. Laws are BROAD for a reason. Kentucky protects their victims in juvenile cases by silencing EVERYONE.
We can't make laws case by case. And again, what if the photos were consensual? She just changed her mind later? Rather then face jail time, they cut a plea. Happens every day in these united states. Everyday.
NO i have no idea about this so i can't tell you more about this.
