I have a friend who speaks 3 languages. Instead of hatred or resentment, I'm envious of him.
I don't think anyone resents someone who is multi-lingual.
What annoys me, other than the press 1 for English, is all the product packaging that now has English and Spanish on it. I start to read something and realize that it doesn't make sense because it's not in English! I hate having to search for the English. Why should I?
I suppose it's silly of me, but I refuse to buy canned veggies or other products that have spanish on the packaging.
More or less one and the same as far as I'm concerned. I can bet dollars to donuts that France does not have driving tests or voting ballots in any other language but French.

Oh not so silly. I mean what in hell is going to be next? Verses of the national anthem sung in(God forbid)Spanish at the next Super Bowl!:-(

Common and official are not the same. I'm willing to bet if you go to Mexico you see English all over the place. When I was in Europe I saw multipe languages on many government signs.

What is France's take on the First Amendment? Or Second Amendment? Or, would you rather pick and choose? How does the idea of "States Rights" apply in France?
Must be a Texas thing. In the rest of the US, I think it is:
Don't like the way things are? Vote.
