People that can't stand to see Spanish need to get a life. We have bigger problems to deal with.

Perhaps. But because it isn't backed up by law, you have the debate raging in this thread.

The only national language is GREED no matter how it is expressed.

When I retire to the southwest I expect to have to learn Spanish just to be able to talk with my neighbors. No big deal.

It costs governments lots of money to produce everything in two languages.
Companies now produce their goods in both English and Spanish as you can see by looking at their packaging; one side English and the other side Spanish.

There are pockets of Austin that are 100% Spanish and if you don't speak the language then you can't do business.

Then don't! Stop whining about it, just take your business where it makes sense.

Compared to what?

Given that equal protection laws (Constitutionally required BTW) require us to provide the same government services to people regardless of the language they speak, what do you imagine would be a more efficient way of doing so? Employing an army of translators?

Most decent sized companies package in a lot more languages than just two. It opens up their products and services to a larger, often global market.

Sound to me like a business opportunity.

Actually, I attribute the "raging" to motives less respectable than a lack of law.

But that's just me.
