So you're denying that we started the whole revolving-door border deal, and owe them nothing for keeping our economy afloat, except a swift kick in the pants?
That's muy frijo.
The government wanted it, not me or my family. I dont think they keep our economy afloat, they keep their employers in profits. it's greed,. When we did ocnstruction we noticed the companies employing the illegals we not passing the savings on, but pocketing the money they saved. Prices remained the same. Swift kick in the rear and dead bolt the door.
Owe them NO WE OWE THEM NOTHING, they have taken enough.
I didn't start the revolving door. When do we stop the,"We owe you because your ancestors did this for us?" A few years ago the Mexican population wanted to show the American people that if they protested and went on strike that our economy would collapse without them, well I am still waiting for the economic repurcussions!!! I know many people who are unemployed that would work any job to feed their family this includes manual labor. What a crop of crap to say that they keep our economy afloat. This country has developed over time from the sweat and tears of our citizens and their ancestors, not from the sweat and tears of the ungrateful illegal immigrants of today.

I am still waiting to hear just one person say Thank You to America and the citizens for allowing them to live here illegally and in some cases for free.(welfare, medical, housing, food). Of course hell will freeze over before that happens because We owe them because the United States stole land from Mexico many many years ago and they want to punish us for it and reclaim Azteca.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, we're headed for a "Sudetenland" situation here in the west.
And I guess you second point shows where we stand. Personally, I don't find that waving an American flag is any more American than criticizing the government. Living in this country doesn't require mindless patriotism, it requires critical thought and active participation. Who was suggesting mindless patriotism, no one is asking them to not utilize their critical thinking -I don't know what you were reading? I recommend that ALL PEOPLE, use their mind and critical thinking skills. You obviously missed the point . If you're standing on American soil, demanding the same rights as an American - then either show respect by waving the American flag, or don't wave nothing but your hands If nothing else, at least PRETEND, like you have some respect.
Jobs in heavily latino populated cities require candidates to be bilingual also have a large amount of first generation immigrants. Facts are, the kids are learning english, the adults aren't. And that's how its always been. That can't be repeated enough. It's one thing to "prefer bilingual" but demanding it when they supposedly have children that can speak it - come on, that's a slap in the face of every American.
Anyways, no I am not in college, although from your kneejerk disregard to data "made by some man" I can see why you are using college as an insult here. Although I was in college at one point, and I have studied immigration, and I know that the attitudes you all have against Mexicans now have all been expressed towards whatever immigrant population is surging at the time. And somehow its all worked out before.
My comment re: college was not meant to be an insult. I myself am a college graduate (many years ago). Obviously I was somewhat correct in my assessment of your background, since you stated that you "studied immigration" - that is obvious from your posts.
Attitudes that "you all" have - you still FAIL to see the REAL underlying issue here. Speaking for myself, I do not have an issue with law abiding legal immigrants who chose to come make a better life for themselves. But the issue lies with our Federal Government and the Criminals who have broken the law by crossing the border ILLEGALLY or by those who have overstayed their Visas and then try to DEMAND something, like America owes them - that's a crock of b.s. They BROKE THE LAW, PERIOD, and they don't get a PASS from me!
CamaroGuy arre you talking about what is going on in Sudan??? Please clarify because I am a litlle slow witted. LOL My belief is that the legal citizens of America are going to get so fed up with the handouts to illegals and the unfair treatment of legals that we will see a civil uprising. Our government must start listening to our complaints and our opinions and do something about this problem.

Sudetenland was the German name used in English in the first half of the 20th century for the Western regions of Czechoslovakia inhabited mostly by Germans. Long story gotta look it up.
My mother was born in Monterey Mexico, she married my father who is American (Irish) and he speaks spanish. They own a farm in South Florida and my mother knows very little English. She has never needed to since she stays at home most of the time.
However all 3 of her children including myself, know English and Spanish fluently and went to college. If you want to do anything in this world you will have to learn English. There are parts of this country that only speak Portuguese, Japanese or Chinese it so happens Latin America is close by and people are scared of the "invasion".
Give these people time and they would learn it, these extremists groups that want to force Spanish on Americans do not represent the majority of Mexicanos. However, I think both languages can co-exist in America and see no big deal, we should add French in there too since those are the 3 primary languages of North America.
