As long as we are the only country where it is easier to buy guns than to buy medications, we will have this barbaric distinction, and sure, the right wing radicals have their story book ready to dispute any allegation
that may threaten the ability for any smuck to own an arsenal. How many more blood baths need to occur so
that the leaders of insanity in this country such as palin, limbaugh, rommney, etc. figure out how screwed up they are.....

Don't you know? Guns don't kill people. People do.

I find it odd that said people never seem to opt for mass murder by car. Or by knife. Or even by explosives. For some strange reason, most of these people seem to prefer guns - but perhaps I am simply "seeing things". I am just glad to be reassured that these actions have absolutely nothing to do with guns.

How hard is it to get medicine? You go to a doctor, get a prescription, and go to a pharmacy. I don't know anyone who's been turned down medicine.

Other than guns, this isn't a liberal/conservative issue. In American culture, more than other countries, it is very important for a man to be successful. There is a huge stigma here in being a "loser". You will find most of those who kill on a mass scale either are social outcasts and/or don't have a successful carreer. Thankfully most called "losers" are docile and won't harm anyone but some go off the deep end.

This is a good point. How do we identify the harmful losers and treat them appropriately before they act?

I would be careful going down that road, unless you mean some type of counselling. But it would be bad to falsely accuse people of being potential killers because they fit a profile.

While most mass murderers fit a profile, the vast majority of those who fit that exact profile would never dream of killing anyone.

It happens in other countries, too. It's not exclusive to the U.S.

Just last December, someone in Belgium went on a shooting spree. 4 killed and 75 injured. He used a rifle and a pistol.

In Norway too there was a recent horrific mass murder at a youth camp.

Even if these shootings aren't exclusive to the U.S I believe they (as well as all violent crime in general) happen more here per capita than any other industrialized country.

I'm not a doctor or anything close so I don't mean counseling. I'm also not suggest we falsely accuse people of being potential killers because they fit a profile.

What I said was to identify the harmful losers and treat them appropriately before they act.

Oh, so your struggle to understand why people don't kill more creatively???

Well, ban guns...problem solved
