Cut, dry, end of story, there is no proper argument against it.
Its not the gender that is the difference. Gays are not of a different gender.

The GBLT crowd need to get over it and get a life!
Isn't that what they're trying to do though, to get a life? You know, a life in which you can get married to the person you love? So what's your life like? Care to share some details so we can discuss them here? No? Well then don't try and tell other people what to do with their lives.

I don't get it. Fifty years ago gays were sent to prison for being gay. Today they are free to live their lives the way they want it, live together be openly gay etc.
They can have lifelong partners and give each other power of attorney.
Are they happy with what the society gave them? No. They want to encroach on a thousand years old tradition that didn't start to legitimize anyone's love affairs but to ensure proper upbringing of the offspring resulting from that union.

Why dont gays just enjoy what they have been given? Be happy. If you can't be happy now marriage will not change it. Don't fool yourself. Society stopped treating you like sick deviants and accepted you as simply being different and now you want to prove you are no different than the rest of population?
You are not sick you are simply different than us and we accepted it, don't force us now to believe that you are not different than us.

since when were women allowed to compete in the mens' football league?

That's discrimination too according to your logic.

That all depends on what league you are talking about. High schools allow women to play on the football team as do colleges. The NFL is a bit different, they have logical reasons to why they don't mix genders on teams, ranging from false accusations to someone purposely trying to harm them because they are women.

If you are so concerned with gender equality then why aren't you making a fuss about this sport issue?

or does it only matter to you when SSM is being discussed?

Stop thinking of it as 'gay marriage' and start thinking of it for what it is, 'same sex' or 'same gender' marriage. There's no test for sexual orientation for a woman and man to marry. If a male [female] wants to marry another man [woman], in most states it's illegal. If two straight guys in Kansas wants to get married, they can't. OTOH, they can marry any woman, no matter what her sexual orientation is. Discrimination based on sex or gender.
