I DO NOT side with his viewpoint but is this really controversial? Let's say his natural inclinations is an attraction to the same sex and he believes it to be wrong. That means he can no longer state his position?
The alcoholic should not speak out against alcoholism?
One can rightly condemn his viewpoint but not because of his inclinations.

An alcoholic can speak out against alcoholism as long as he admits he suffers from it. When he speaks out against it and denies he drinks, well, it's just sanctimonious hypocrisy at that point.

Few want to admit they are flawed. (or in this case, believe they are flawed)
Whether he is sanctimonious would depend on his actions. I really have no idea whether this is the case or not. This is the first I have heard about him.
Big shocker. All those god botherers are either closet queers or otherwise into real freaknasty stuff like farm animals.
Agreed, any normal person gay or straight spends very little time thinking about what kind of sex people they have never met might be having.
Some of the bible thumpers are simply obsessed with gay sex acts and spend more time thinking about it than any normal person with a well adjusted sexual identity.
Just think of how many thousands of men there are in this country who are like him. Poor guys.
For somebody who is Christian and genuinely believes the Bible is the word of God, and they happen to have homosexual inclinations, they have a HUGE dilemma. They either have to reject their faith to come out or remain chaste for life. Of course there is the option of liberal Christianity but for somebody who genuinely believes the Bible is the word of God converting to liberal Christianity is many times just as difficult if not moreso than dropping faith completely and becoming atheist. This is why most gays who are raised as evangelical Christians end up atheist. You either believe the Bible or you don't. If you believe it is infallible, you cannot be a Christian and a practicing homosexual. Liberal Christians have a much looser view of the Bible and generally deny its inerrancy or infallibility, despite claiming to follow it. That is why its possible to be a liberal Christian and in a gay relationship.
