He's on the crazy train alright, and it's non-stop express to crazy town.

Friday’s Olympic opening ceremony in London was “more socialist” than the Beijing version four years ago, and a tribute to the National Health Service included in the performance was “done on behalf of” President Barack Obama, Rush Limbaugh claimed Monday.

Obviously inspired by the Opening Ceremony, Limbaugh has taken literally Peter Pan's instructions to Wendy on how to get to Neverland: "Second star to the right.. and straight on till morning"... or to Hell in a Handbasket, in Limbaugh's case.

I'm sure you are well aware of the pagan religious origins of the Olympic games. Christian Emperor Theodosius I banned the Olympics in 393 A.D. due to the diabolical brutality, cruelty, and barbarism of the events, which included ritualistic human sacrifices to pagan deities. Not very tolerant or ecumenical, that narrow-minded Theodosius.

(In our time, the emergence of "extreme" sports together with the de-Christianizing of society is no coincidence.)

On the other hand, Pope St. Pius X, in 1908, not only lent his support to the now-reformed Olympics in London, but personally launched a revival of athletics in the Christian world when only 1 percent of the population participated in organized sports.

"I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure." - Eric Liddell
Oh, thank God, SOMEBODY quoted Pius X... I thought he was going to get left out of this discussion.

Carry on with the Inquisition, then Western Pilgrim! You could, in fact, start it by burning a few pedophile priests... Some "Christian Brothers" on Tower Hill??

As a Briton, I can assure you that the opening ceremonies, which celebrated the industrial revolution, Peter Pan, Harry Potter and the NHS had nothing to do with Barack Obama.

Perhaps Rush Limbaugh was saying he thinks, like Peter Pan, Barack Obama would look good in tights. I can neither confirm nor deny Rush's man-crush on the President, however.

lol, don't these imbeciles even know what socialism is?

NHS, welfare, higher taxes for the rich etc, does not equal socialism.

haven't they ever heard of Marx, Lenin, Mao etc...

perhaps they need some history and political theory study!

Limbaugh can not explain how the English love their socialized national health care system. Its not supposed to work, but it does work, Romney just said that Israel spends only 8 percent of its GDP on health care and the USA spends 18 percent not knowing that Israel has a national health care system. Crazy how these idiot tea baggers and radical right wingers want to keep a sinking boat.
