What happened to the purity of sport?

NHS SOCIALIZED MEDICINE OLYMPIC PROPAGANDA - YouTube

Why do we have to inject debt-based progressiveness into something that should be about athletic achievement?

The UK ought to be ashamed of what they've done to the Olympic Movement.

You want them to be ashamed of providing basic healthcare to all citizens???? Others would call that an act of compassion and humanity.

I thought about all the right wing heads exploding across the country while watching the opening ceremonies last night. It greatly added to my enjoyment of the event. The opening ceremonies are always a reflection of the host country, and the British are obviously proud of their ability to cover all of their citizens with healthcare. It's amusing to see how much that offends you.

What in the world is "debt-based progressiveness?"

I watched it. It wasn't a big deal. It's the Olympics.....enjoy the games. Any complaints about the always fluff opening ceremonies are much ado about nothing.

If there was a message it's missed by nearly everyone as nobody cares. The participants appeared to be having a very good time. Good for them after all their hard work.

You, unsurprisingly, have completely missed the point of this thread.

The NHS is not a political matter in the UK. All political parties support it.

I doubt that the organizers really cared or gave any thoughts to the sensibilities of American conservatives

Hey, genius, read this please:

BBC News - UK recession deepens after 0.7% fall in GDP

Quote:
The UK recession has deepened, latest official figures have shown, after the output of the economy fell by 0.7% between April and June.
The contraction was much bigger than expected and follows a 0.3% drop in the first three months of the year.
So while you dedicate your life to enjoying watching reasoned, intelligent people be offended, others are trying to figure out a way to PAY for your liberal flights of fancy.

Only conservatives should be in charge of the purse strings.

Progressives need adult supervision.

NHS is only political in the US. Developing nations strive to have it and developed nations all followed suit. The odd man out is the US.
