I thought about all the right wing heads exploding across the country while watching the opening ceremonies last night. It greatly added to my enjoyment of the event. The opening ceremonies are always a reflection of the host country, and the British are obviously proud of their ability to cover all of their citizens with healthcare. It's amusing to see how much that offends you.
I watched it. It wasn't a big deal. It's the Olympics.....enjoy the games. Any complaints about the always fluff opening ceremonies are much ado about nothing.
If there was a message it's missed by nearly everyone as nobody cares. The participants appeared to be having a very good time. Good for them after all their hard work.

The UK recession has deepened, latest official figures have shown, after the output of the economy fell by 0.7% between April and June.
The contraction was much bigger than expected and follows a 0.3% drop in the first three months of the year.
