Never let a crisis go to waste somebody once said............

"Two Democratic lawmakers on Monday will announce new legislation to regulate the online and mail-order sale of ammunition.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (N.J.) and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (N.Y.) said the new law would make the sale of ammunition “safer for law-abiding Americans who are sick and tired of the ease with which criminals can now anonymously stockpile for mass murder,” in a statement released Saturday."

Yes now everyone who buys ammo online is "stockpiling it for mass murder" according to these quacks.

This is really going to get a lot of doom and gloomer's panties in a wad. When the roaming hord of flesh eating zombies pays their neighborhood a visit, they will surely rue the day...

I shoot about 1000 rounds a month. I guess that qualifies me as a potential mass murderer.... Talk about ignorance...

What's the difference between on line and a store front ?

None, that will be next on limiting what / where we can buy.

In 2010, there were a total of 1811 murders in California. 1257 of them were caused by firearms. Why didn't California, who has the strictest gun laws in the country except for Puerto Rico, stop them? This is just a media circus and a political opportunity for the gun banners. Where are the voices crying out for the 1257 that were murdered by guns? Oh yeah, because then people would open their eyes up and realize that those 1257 still died despite California having some of the most draconian gun laws in the U.S. Those 361 people killed in Illinois by firearms, did the FOID manage to stop them? Obviously not. Can we call a spade a spade for once? If the "gun control" crowd were really serious, they would try to start a constitutional amendment to erase the 2nd Amendment, but they won't and can't. So, they'll just try to inconvenience the general law abiding citizen so much to the point that they hope they won't buy guns out of bureaucratic frustration. That is the real goal, anyone who says otherwise is either lying or is being taken for a ride

Looks like the Democrats are looking to put even more people out of business and shutter more doors in this Obama disaster of an economy.

If the government were serious about stopping illegal crimes committed with firearms, AG-Holder and several of his underlings would already have been fired and held criminally accountable for the deaths associated with the illegal gun & grenade traffiking to known felons and Mexican drug cartel members via BATFE's Operation Fast & Furious.

The usual gun hating Democrat Senator suspects strike again.

These knee-jerk feel good gun-control measure will assure the GOP wins the Senate in November.

Plain & simple, there is no group more logic-impaired than the lefty gun control crowd. These are the same people who blamed Sarah Palin after a mentally ill man shot a Dem Congresswoman in Tucson. The same people who thought that an AK with its normal pistol grip stock was beyond the pale, but a thumbhole stock (remember the 'MAK-90?') was acceptable. Drum mags are scary and "make one's skin crawl" (found in the NYT 5 days ago)), but a vest full of non-jamming 10 round box mags is ok. They especially hate 'assault weapons,' but few would be able to define what they are, even if you held a gun to their head.

Although I'm a left of center Indie, I have to admit that McCarthy never met a gun she didn't want to ban. She has introduced more gun control bills than anybody else and they always get sent to committee where they die. Lautenberg is just a political ***** who will ride any populist wagon that comes along.
