I remember doing it up through elementary school on a daily basis in the L.A. area. At that time, grade school went through sixth grade, which for me would have been 1986. I don't recall doing it in middle school or high school.
I never recall reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in my school district. My school system never mentioned it.
Did your school district recite the Pledge of Allegiance?
Where did you go to school?
I recited the POA as a student for 12 years and led the POA as a teacher for 37 years in the Miami-Dade school district. They still recite it every day in every school in the district.
Yes, every morning in elementary school and middle school. Highschool though was a different story. Im seeing it less and less though. Growing up you were taught to respect and love your country, now people don't do the pledge because it says god once or twice which is just stupid.
Being a child of the sixties we said the pledge every morning, when I got to JH this was no longer the case.
And YES it included "One Nation under GOD" in a public school.
