I'm saying it's a possibility because people with too much money/ power in their hands intent on universal uniformity... often ends in a very big mess. Whether they intended good or not. Whether it was hijacked or not. It's nice that pilots have available to them an eject button. The ability to cut short a mission when it presents itself as manifestly unsound or antithetical to mission objectives.
I'm less inclined to believe in Alex Jones conspiracies, but more inclined to heed the concerns of conspiracy theorists for the sake of tempering wise policies. Serving the greater good is a noble thing, but it ought not be permission to trample underfoot what we claim to defend.
