As for Obama, well just check the numbers. The sheer magnitude and intensity of insanely abusive insults on CD and elswhere compels me to feel that there is soo much more than dissatifaction with his performance going on. Actually I think that is just an excuse for the bigotry. Especially when there have been so many other Elected officials, presidential and otherwise, who have also performed atrociously, who were not crucified the way this unique individual has been. And as far as Mr. Mitt goes, I have no reason to hate nor love the man. He seems feeble, uncultured and distracted, and I have seen nothing that would qualify him as leader of anything besides a country club.

As a Libertarian, I find that both sides of the unifiied Politicial Party of Republicrats are represensible.

Both offer the nation the absolute worst examples for leaders of of the Big Business/Big Government side (Romney), or the Communist/Socialist Big Government side.

No true American should settle for such pathetic candidates.

It is sad that our nation must wallow endlessly in the mud before we can look up and see that the only Congressional leader with a real job, was also the only leader with an intelligent plan for America's recovery: Ron Paul

I think there's a significant number of valid opinions that do not fall into the narrow labels of liberal or conservative excluded from consideration.

I agree with the quote above. I expect that If I met the Romney's casually, at a party, I would fine them pleasant people. . .I would talk to Ann about Dressage, one of my (past) passions, I would definatly want to know if she actually gets to ride Rafalca, and if so, at which level she rides. But the Romney's, as politicians, are repugnant to me. They are dishonest, and appear to be willing to say anything at all that might help their chance of being elected, regardless of the truth. Even if this wasn't true, I do not think the Mitt Romney has the necessary qualifications to be president, his recent overseas trip makes my point!

And I was just curious about how you--my fellow left of centre posters--felt about Romney. Do you hate him as much as conservatives hate the Obamas? (I'm not really getting the same vibe I saw in 2008 toward Obama, myself) How will you react if he is elected? How upset will you be?

Personally, I think they're nice people who have their hearts in the right place...but they're just out of touch with what it's like for Americans of average means in this country. I won't be voting for him, But I've never thought the Romneys were bad people--as opposed to many other leading conservative personalities. If Romney was elected, I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't go apoplectic the way the right did when Obama was elected.

So what do you think?
Liberals hate anybody who has more than they do, so yes.

Very well stated. No President in my lifetime has been the subject of such abusive remarks as this one has. I think Americans could at least show a modicum of respect for the Office of the President, even if they don't like the present occupant.

No, I don't hate him. I just think he'd make a very poor President. I'll leave the irrational hatred to our conservative friends.

Bam.

This.

There's not a single politician in office or running for office that I "hate".
