CNN has better election night coverage. You can actually read their bottom of the screen graphics.

- Stopped watching FOX News after they trumped up the Iraq War and no WMDs were found. Oops.
- MSNBC is a good whine fest and nothing more. Correct spelling of whine.
- CNN? Started watching CNN when one morning I discovered Robin Meade was delivering the news in the morning. Er, I mean it was CNN's outstanding reporting. No, wait...

-Then, I quit watching all the major networks, and, more recently, even the local networks, due to the fact that much of modern news reporting is nothing short of tabloid trash.

Anyone interested in actual news isn't watching cable news channels. People who liked to be entertained and/or permanently outraged watch cable news.

Watch BBC, Deutsche Welle, or even CNN International. Read this week's issue of the Economist. Listen to NPR during your morning commute. Go to any number of sources other than cable if you want actual news and analysis.

On Armed Forces Network we get a hour of each network in sequence, so you see Fox, then CNN, then MSNBC cover the same stories in their own individual ways. MSNBC is by far the worst IMHO, with CNN and Fox about equal though I like Megyn Kelley much better than Susanne Malveaux (she flops around at her desk too much and has a surgicaly attached permanent smile). I like Wolf Blitzer better than I used to, and he seems to have become more objective over the years. Fox is moving left, CNN is pretty much center now and MSNBC is terminaly left. If I want any real international news I watch Al Jazeera.

I wouldn't say the marketing is awesome. It's easy to market to the bigoted and perpetually frightened. If anything, I'd say they know their customer base extremely well and that they are experts at delivering their low-brow commentary to the least common denominator.

Keep stumbling over your own inflated heads, Leftists

Why CNN Is Failing
CNN published an article by Shannon Travis yesterday,"Has the Tea Party 'Sold Out' to the Mainstream GOP?," that illustrates why that once dominant media company is now failing.

Why CNN Fails
CNN’s chief problem is not a lack of partisanship. Instead, it is that CNN’s “news” primarily consists of opinions from partisan political hacks. Most work for CNN because no candidate wants to hire them, and it’s an easy gig because they don’t have to know much about the subjects they pontificate about. Does CNN really believe viewers are still interested in the opinions of the corporate-funded James Carville? Or that CNN will steal viewers from FOX News by hiring Erick Erickson of Redstate.com, who publicly threatened to shoot census workers? CNN is failing because it’s selling stale conventional wisdom, which viewers are rejecting.

CNN's chief problem is that it tries to stay in the center when the only people who perpetually watch cable news these days are people who need to find validity for their narrow partisan viewpoint. The mere fact that you used the statment "Leftist" in your opening statement while discussing CNN means that you fall squarely into that narrow-minded category.

Notice how easily your little model fits Fox:

'Fox News' chief problem is not a lack of partisanship. Instead, it is that Fox's “news” primarily consists of opinions from partisan political hacks. Most work for Fox because no candidate wants to hire them, and it’s an easy gig because they don’t have to know much about the subjects they pontificate about. Does Fox really believe viewers are still interested in the opinions of the corporate-funded (insert just about anyone who opens their mouth on Fox)? Or that Fox will steal viewers from CNN by hiring Alan Colmes, who publicly submitted to an inferior Hannity on a daily basis? Fox is failing everyone but the extreme right because it’s selling jingoist partisan rambling, which sane and educated viewers are rejecting.'

The only difference between a 'successful' and less than 'successful' is an extremist viewpoint. These days, the level of financial success in "news" casting is unfortunately and directly proportional to how willing they are to cater to the extreme.

I am sick of all the news channels. All they have on anymore is talk shows and little "news".

The left wing consist of a younger more physical active and social audience the only time this matters is during elections when they come out in grooves.

I don't see a lot of liberals sitting in front of tv all day watching something as boring as politics which is mostly consisted of old men talking race, budget and social issues.

Majority of us don't really care, we're not trained in that area. Majority of the vocal folks are conservatives.
