That's all good. You're a regular Boy Scout. How about answering your own question? Do you feel women should arm themselves out of fear of getting raped? Are women fequently attacked by 6'5" 250lb rapists in your area too?
Serious questions:
1. Are you able to differentiate between fear and preparedness?
2. Do you buckle your seatbelt in a car because you fear every time you will be in an accident; or, because you know that if you are (through variables beyond your control) that your chances of survival are increased exponentially?
3. Would you say the person who buckles his/her seat belt everytime they get in a vehicle to go somewhere is doing so out of fear?

I feel people should be prepared to protect themselves. That has nothing to do with fear, thats called personal responsibility. Women arming themselves shows they care enough about themselves to embrace the idea of protecting oneself.
Would you rather women rely on others for protection if something bad went down?
A boy scout? You can stop with your pitiful little attempt at condescension. You are the one who looks like a fool here, and I have no doubt that carries over into your daily life as well.
Ten years ago I wanted to find the truth and went searching... I noticed that most of the world was governed by fear- a natural fear. I wanted to over come the natural and be more super natural....fear- became a project for a while- I had a friend down the road with an enclosed yard..In that yard was a very large Saint Bernard dog....usually this breed is gentle- This 200 pound monster was protective and vicious . If I was going to visit..I would have to call first and the owner would have to contain the animal..
Eventually I thought - this dog thrives on my fear...If I exercised the idea of fear removal could I control this mutt...The process took place in degrees...The dog backed off slightly but when it sensed a tiny bit of fear it would embolden and attack...next time my confidence was greater...the dog let me in the yard but followed me growling waiting for me to lose my resolve...Eventually...all the fear was gone...I had total control over the huge dog....and learned a lesson....evil feeds fear....violence feeds on fear....cowards and bullies feed on fear.
America is a nation that lives in fear- the so-called war on terror proved this...Terrorists would have no power without fear...Those who need guns are governed by fear....There is a place for guns..but not in the hands of the fearful..Because they will lose all good judgement and always use the weapon in panic....just sayin

I've been successful in all aspects of my life thus far, people recognize it and respect it. It's what breeds the arrogance.
True story:
I'm an avid runner. Run 9 miles at least 4 times a week. I prefer to run late in the evening, usually starting out between 9 and 10 a clock. Several years ago I'm doing my usual route, made an attempt to pass a couple young ladies on the sidewalk, when this nervous Nelly reaches into her purse, screams and pulls out what I imagine was pepper spay. Well I swerved slightly, and was running at a good pace so didn't catch any of it. She somehow got back spray, which gave me a lil' chuckle.
Now had this knucklehead had been carrying a firearm, I very well could have been killed. This is why i DO NOT believe people should walk around armed. Male or female. People do irrational things out of fear.
And to this day if I see a woman I run out onto the street. Take my chances with the cabs and city buses.
What if a genie has a gun and my wizard only has the magic wand? Or a leprechaun pulls a knife and steals my magic wand? Seriously, if this did happen, the governments of the world would go into full blown panic mode. " We still have nukes, people! We still have nukes! Back off!" Mass resignations of police and prison guards would take place.
I'm assuming ALL weapons would be gone, missiles, tanks, cannons, etc. Sword makers and knife makers would have a business boom, thats for sure.
And then the aliens would invade, earth would be a nice piece of low hanging fruit.
Most gun people want the self defense from a perceived robber who would also be carrying a gun. That is eliminated if you have no guns, and its just his violence vs your violence.
Hell yeah. Lets do this old school! Bare Knuckle Boxing.

When you remove the gun, what next? Dynomite? Trinitrocellulose? Crowbar? Gas Can? Car? heavy bicycle? Jackhammer? Big screwdrivers?
If I had a magic wand, I'd use it to remove ignorance. Then we wouldn't need guns or this forum.
