This article is full of some eye-opening statistics, such as:

"According to the report, children living with their mother and her boyfriend are about 11 times more likely to be sexually, physically, or emotionally abused than children living with their married biological parents. Likewise, children living with their mother and her boyfriend are six times more likely to be physically, emotionally, or educationally neglected than children living with their married biological parents. In other words, one of the most dangerous places for a child in America to find himself in is a home that includes an unrelated male boyfriend—especially when that boyfriend is left to care for a child by himself."

84 percent of male prison inmates claim to have been abused as children. It's time to connect the dots, don't you think?

I guess some single mothers get desperate. Which may be why they are single mothers in the first place.

In know, I know!

We should have forced marriages. You can never divorce, no matter what. You can never leave your spouse, no matter how abusive he or she is. If you do, you will be stoned.

You can only have children if you are properly married. If you, somehow, do get pregnant, you will be stoned.

Since women are not allowed to have an abortion, either, we must enforce a no-sex-before-marriage policy. Thus, we will install vaginal monitoring devices (certainly nothing that would impact a penis, mind you) to keep track of sexual activity.

If one spouse dies, the surviving spouse must eventually commit suicide and also kill surviving children.

Anyone who was exposed to child abuse must be locked up preventatively as early as possible.

Gosh, don't you just hate it when people simply don't stick to your narrowly-defined way of the "right" way to live? People should be forced to fill out a questionnaire once they turn 16. If they don't stick to my ideas exactly, they should be executed to avoid any future heart-break, abuse, unhappiness, failure to complete high school, etc.

Religious fundies from all walks of life sure are a silly bunch, aren't they? Too bad they fail to realize that the message is really much simpler. Whatever happen to "love one another?"

A nasty culture has developed indeed. Do we stop enabling single motherhood and how?

Seems people need to stop disregarding the importance of the father. And the mothers need to be more discriminating in who they expose their children to.
