No, sperm IS alive. Sperm cells are just that... cells. And cells are alive.

And regardless of that fact, when I mentioned masturbation I was countering a point that the first trimester fetus has the potential to become a person by saying that sperm has the potential to become a person.

Because the woman who had the baby is supposed to take care of it--hopefully.

Then tell that to a woman when you get one pregnant. If she says it's also my body, my mind that we're talking about here, then don't be surprised.

But you'll agree that many don't. Would you rather a woman get an abortion or have the baby but neglect it.

That's a serious question that I have to ask myself, and currently I'd say I'd rather the woman have an abortion. But I'm not set in belief there.

You're getting confused. Abortifacient chemicals and pills, used for reasons of "birth control" but which end up killing a human life, are wrong on the same level that surgical abortion is wrong.

There are other methods of artificial birth control which do not risk killing a human being. These are also wrong and immoral, but they do not cause abortions.

You canNOT be "more or less" pro-life(anti-Choice).

You either think abortion is right or wrong.

ANSWER THIS: How is abortion different if it comes about by rape or pleasurable sex????

Abortion is abortion....exactly the same whether the mother's life is in danger or whether she was raped or her father impregnated her or she had a good time.
Don't tell me what i can and can't do or think ok! That idea isn't going to fly a bit. So I can be more or less pro life, but define some legal and or medical situations where i could live with abortion.

I would not want a women who was raped and wanting an abortion to be forced to carry to term.

Hell in todays soft society a rapist won't even be in jail that long... And i think my medical reasons are just over your head. This is not just black and white, right or wrong....

Reserving sex for marriage would eliminate this conversation from taking place - one should not be engaging in sexual relations without taking responsibility for their actions.

They are alive, but they are not human life. Only a living fertilized egg is a human life.

Sounds like you need to learn some basic biology. A sperm can never become anything but sperm without fertilizing a female ovum. That is called conception, and conception creates the fetus ("young one").

Look at it this way: an apple is not, by itself, potentially apple pie; it needs to be joined with other ingredients in a specific way under specific conditions. Hope that helps.

Alright, you make a good point. We still disagree on whether a woman should be able to get an abortion, but you have debunked my sperm argument.
