That is simply sad.
It is sad that some people die and some retire. Well, I suppose retiring is not sad.

So, the private sector keeps adding, while the government keeps getting smaller. That is the right trend, but more needs to be added.

payrolls added 172,000 positions — about in line with Wednesday's report from ADP and Macroeconomic Advisors — while government subtracted 9,000.

Right. That's why we need contraception. Wait, the Repugs don't want that either.

If the government had not been shedding jobs and getting leaner (the Republican wish list), the unemployment rate would be down to 5% already. Meantime, the private sector has added more jobs and at a faster rate than during the recovery from the 2000 recession. Whether losing government jobs is a good or bad thing is beside the point. The fact is, government job loss is what's keeping the unemployment rate above 8%.

Yes, it is true that the government has been shrinking at a record pace, and yes, those are jobs too, and losing them reflect negatively on the UE numbers, but the good thing is that after decades of relentelss government expansion, the government is finally getting smaller. That will save a lot of money on the long run.

May was revised up, June down ... you have some kind of point to make?

Job growth?

There are 380,000 Americans that enter the age of working class every week.
They do not get to be counted, as they have never worked to get unemployment insurance.
8.3% are just the population that is receiving UE benefits.
