A local Tea Party group in Pennsylvania has sent an email to its followers with a joke about beating President Obama - literally.

“The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the radical, socialist leader,” it says.

The “punchline” is that Obama expected to meet 72 virgins after his death, not 72 Virginians.

The joke appears to be modeled on a similar comic bit by Robin Williams about Osama bin Laden that plays on the notion that Islamic suicide bombers are promised 72 virgins in paradise.
