Considering the record amount of times the Brits are hearing "God Save the Queen" I doubt that they have given it a second thought.
PS - In case you haven't heard the lyrics lately, there aren't any references to who was doing the bombarding of all those rocket red glares so it isn't exactly the most in your face kind of rendering.
If you want to read some real in your face lyrics, read the words of La Marsellaise!

LOL, the British have fought soooo many wars in far flung parts of the globe against so many different peoples in their history that the War of 1812 is probably not high on the radar of wars fought.
Most AMERICANS probably believe the song was written about the Revolutionary War.
If anything, Canadians probably snicker when they hear the Star Spangled Banner, since one of THEIR accomplishments during that war was repelling several US invasions of their country!
After all - their naval bombardment of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 - the defense of which inspired the song being written - ended in a British defeat.
I doubt 1 in 10 brits even knows that.
I mean, consider that many of them have immediate relatives that got bombed in the Blitz....are they cringing over the German anthem?
Well, yes, it seems unlikely that the U.S. would ever host another Olympics. The Tea Party small-government crowd would never want to spend the money.
