Many members of the Mormon Church including Joseph Smith believe(d) that it is o.k. to lie as long as it serves a greater purpose or desired outcome. So under the Mormon church, lying for the lord can be a good thing.

There seems to be a difference between the Mormon cult and the protestant religions. So if Romney lies, his actions could seem laudable to his church, if the reason for the lie was to promote the church.

Interesting stuff.

Since when did any politician, on either side of the aisle, need religion to make them think lying was OK?

This entire thread is premised on a lie - would you like to begin by establishing that Mr. Romney has lied at all?

Yep, politicians never needed an excuse outside of politics to lie.

Well actually this is sort of appropriate. For many politics is their religion.

Then what is Obama's excuse for lying? Christianity doesnt say its okay to lie, yet Obama has. Oh wait, we cant talk about Obama and lying, we have to talk about Mitt and his Mormonism.

Politics is a sport.

September will be awesome - both college football and the presidential race will heat up - enough of this silly Olympics stuff - its time for some real games to begin!

Romney is one the leaders of a cult. And such persons typically say and do whatever they have to to convince others to follow them. I would like to think Mr. Romney isn't a liar ... but, this apple may not have fallen far from the tree.

WOW, what a relief. I thought this had something to do with Romney lying for Obama.

Did it? Shoot - in some parts of Alaska this summer - it hasn't even set.
