Prosecutors released a new batch of evidence in the case against George Zimmerman Thursday, including a photo of Trayvon Martin's body.
The sixth such release gives a closer look at Zimmerman's attempt to be a part of a Seminole County Sheriff's Office years before the shooting of the 17-year-old.
The state attorney's office released new evidence in the case against George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who is charged with shooting and killing Trayvon Martin in Sanford.
The 76 pages of the "State's 6th Supplemental Discovery" released on Thursday contains the audio statement from witness 31 and three photos taken by witness 13 at the scene showing the back of George Zimmerman's head and a flashlight on the ground.
Interesting. If the stand your ground law is valid, why was this Florida black woman convicted? Anyone see the difference here? She was cornered by her abusive husband, but she's black and a woman, so she is not supposed to fight back and defend herself. And, she didn't kill him.
On Aug. 1, 2010, a fight between Alexander and her husband, Rico Gray, 36, left her cornered in the couple's home. She fled into the garage to escape but was trapped behind a jammed door, she stated in court documents. She said she grabbed the gun she kept in the garage, returned to the house and, when Gray threatened to kill her, fired a single shot to ward him off.
Gray ran out of the house with his two sons and called the police. Alexander was arrested and charged. She unsuccessfully invoked her right to stand her ground in court. Alexander's sentencing comes 435 days after the shooting. It took a jury 12 minutes to find her guilty.
Gray himself admitted in a deposition to abusing "all five of his babies' mamas except one," and to hitting Alexander.
1. She "grabbed the gun" and RETURNED TO THE HOUSE. Sounds like premeditation to me.
2. She "fired a single shot to ward him off." That's reckless endangerment, not self defense.
I guess you think that when a 911 dispatcher says "We don't need you to do that." it's just an idle suggestion?
That's pretty much exactly what it is.
You're welcome to cite any statute or case law you can find, preferably in Florida, since that's where this case took place, but I'll take examples from anywhere.
Corey's office released all of the documents, then retracted the majority, explaining that they were inadvertently released and were exempt from public disclosure. Prosecutors did not intend to distribute the photo of Trayvon's body, nor Zimmerman educational records, a spokeswoman for Corey said.
Among the new information revealed: Authorities found the teen's blood on the bag of Skittles he had in his pocket.
OOPS: A photo did leak. The Smoking Gun has the photo. Sad :-)

Reason: to add a story.
911 operators have no authority to "order" anyone to do anything.
But don't let facts get in the way of your little emotion based argument.
Mr. Pancake, Z was talking to the police dispatch, NOT 911 operator. What was it you were saying about knowing this case?
Maybe you should learn some facts of the case before you jump to conclusions.
