With the upcoming conventions, the viewing public has little, if anything to be drawn to the television for.
I have a suggestion. (not that any campaign people view city data forums)
Obviously I am on the republican side, and of late this party seems to be disenfranchising itself from the average citizen.
This is not a good sign when all votes are important.
Each convention has it's keynote speaker, and that is usually some long winded yokel politician that is looking for national exposure, with absolutely no substance to his ramblings.
What is needed is a private citizen, and average hard working slob who appreciates the value of a buck.
Appoint him/ her as the keynote speaker to set the tone for the convention.
Let that person tell how hard it is to work, and raise a family in this country.
Let that person tell every one how hard it is to keep food on the table, send the kids to college etc, keep up with ever increasing tax burdens.
That would be the smartest move the republican party could make in it's effort to win the election.
Sure, it is a political gathering, but one that sorely needs the human factor interjected.
Time to hear from the people, not the politicians.
Bob.
I think that's a good idea, but totally out of the realm of possibility for Republicans. Look at how they freaked out because the Romney spokeswoman even mentioned Romney's health care plan in MA. Are they going to give an average citizen a mic and let them go off script?
I have to agree with Zimar on this.At this point it's damage control for the Republican Party. I hope they can get the crazies out of the party and give the American people another option other than what we have right now.
I would like to see a business owner who built his business and did it without Obama and the government.
