Who's redefining terms? The Democrat Party has been doing that for years! This is why they are trying to associate groups such as the KKK with "far-right" but it is wrong.

Republicans freed the slaves, remember? We were opposed to slavery. I suppose you're going to twist that around now too, huh?

Perhaps a review of history is in order here? There were three phases of the official KKK organization. After World War II, they resurfaced and their membership rose to 4,000,000! Obviously you are not up to date in re your education about the history of the Republican and Democratic Parties. This is something you really should understand if you want to consider yourself educated. You can't make the Democrats of today the right-wing bigots of yesterday even using Robert Byrd, who, in case you haven't noticed passed away. You simply show your ignorance of history when you try to do that.

"After the First World War the Ku Klux Klan also became extremely hostile to Jews, Roman Catholics, socialists, communists and anybody they identified as foreigners."

Ku Klux Klan

There are many, many other site available out there with lots of information on the history of KKK, white supremacists, with more detailed history. This link just provides a short, concise, overview of their history.

"Neo-Nazism borrows elements from Nazi doctrine, including militant nationalism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and anti-Semitism. Holocaust denial is a common feature, as is incorporation of Nazi symbols and admiration of Adolf Hitler. It is related to the white nationalist and white power skinhead movements in many countries."

What part of white supremacist do you not understand about Michael Page?
How does one single incident mark a rise? Like another poster pointed out, the Gabby Giffords shooting wasn't an RWE, the Times Square bomber sure wasn't, Ft. Hood shooter sure wasn't, any of the massive school shootings wasn't the work of a RWE and what about the Aurora theater shooting? NOPE not a RWE there either. What about the OWS guys plotting to blow up that bridge? NOPE, no RWE there either! Seems more like a rise in LEFTWING extremism terror to me!

There is no "rise" of right wing terrorism. Loughner wasn't a right winger and yet he immediately got accused of that by the left. Holmes who killed all those people in that movie theatre wasn't a right winger. We have had a rise of nutcases in the past few years regardless of their political leanings but leave it to the left to spin this into a hate fest smear of conservative Americans.

There is not one thing that this man has in common with those of us on the right. Do not connect us to "white supremacists."

This is an example of the failure of our public schools. We are turning out complete ignoramuses.
Exactly what did/does my user name have to do with this thread topic and discussion? I guess when all else fails.....

Do yourself a favor and look up the meaning of "far right" as well as neo-nazi, and learn something new today.

Btw, are you a strong nationalist?

So you think Holmes and Loughner are the ONLY examples of anything? Certainly Loughner has already been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a very serious MENTAL ILLNESS, and has spent a good amount of time in basically a mental institution; and, it seems very likely that Holmes also has a very serious MENTAL ILLNESS which may be schizophrenia. Those two people have not been categorized as "right wing hate groups" to the best of my knowledge.

You really need to look up the definition of hate groups. There are both right-wing and left-wing hate groups. Years ago in the 1960s the left wing extremist groups were often violent and dangerous. Today, the right-wing extremist groups have grown and become more violent. Own up to your own crazy groups as conservatives.

Obviously you're not into statistics complied by organizations which monitor both right wing and left wing extremist groups. So you think your own memory of a few recent incidents is the "official word".... Geeezzzz.

"A new report released Wednesday by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, or START, showed that murders carried out by right-wing extremist groups have been on the rise recently—nearly doubling since the mid-2000s."

Ummm, no.

Here's a link to some statistics in re the issue of right wing extremism.

What "study" is "BOGUS" and why?

Can you provide any studies which support your position that left wing extremist violence has been on the rise in recent years? I'd be happy to look at it if you have a source.
