Sadly, because we are not a fascist nation people have to actually be proved guilty in a court of law before they can be punished for criminal activity. Had we a responsible system of financial regulation, that might have been possible.
But we don't, so we can't.
We do. This is nothing but trying to make excuses for politicians that will not do their jobs because of the massive amount of money they are gave.

It's really not the politicians fault either, it's those like yourself that will defend them.
Just thought i'd point out the lack of liberals on this thread. How is it that Wall Street is so bad under George W. Bush, but liberals can't find it within themselves to condemn the Obama Administration for the same cronyism?

That's because 800 financial executives went to prison after the savings and loan crisis of the early '90s. By 2000, most of the prosecutions had been completed.
