I wish you would stop telling me and others on the board how we think and what we do. There is no debating with you. Why don't you go to a web site where you can talk to those in the church you hate so much and see what you can do to change them. Shrug.???
If you don't want to defend yourself from chielgirl's comments, then that's your problem.
I was about to post in this thread, but some of the posts I've read so far are so mind-numbingly illogical, it's causing me physical pain. I can feel tumors growing on my brain right now.
There is no defending for me to do. Some already make up their minds and do not want to be bothered with the facts.
I like to say on here, just to be nice, that there is just as much evidence that pornography is not harmful as there is evidence that it is... Have I seen as much evidence that it isn't harmful? No, not quite. I've seen some. But most of what I've seen are surveys given to couples who have agreed to start watching porn together or something of that nature in which, for one of any number of reasons, they declare the pornography has benefitted them. But people will say just about anything they've already done was a good move; it's in our nature. If I change jobs to one that is truly worse in every possible way than the one I have now, I'll still probably tell people "It was for the best. Very happy with my decision!" That's not to mention the possibility that most couples that would agree to such a "study" are already somewhat in favor of pornography. I know I (as someone who's morally opposed to it) wouldn't participate at all.
Few studies have continued with the experimental designs that research on pornography began with. No matter what side the findings seem to support, I don't often take surveys seriously. What porn viewer is going to say "Yes, it has messed my life up! Now, I'm gonna go back and watch some more"? Lol.

Not really. As you proceed to prove for us, the "porn is not harmful" documentation - one shouldn't call it evidence - is hopelessly tainted.

There you go. Any "porn is good for you" study conducted in this manner is tainted right out of the gate. I mean, you're already starting with people who volunteer to expose themselves to pornography.
