There have been isolated instances of aberrant behavior and insanity throughout history and among all cultural groups. Christian marriage and the concept of respectful monogamy was both an analogy for the relationship of the faithful with the church, and a method of institutionalizing a protected status for women. All of this was preceded for centuries, of course, in Judaic culture, among others.

There is nothing recent about heterosexual monogamy, its force as a loving and unifying principle, and the source of progeny, passion, and hope:

Song of Songs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is NOT Brokeback Mountain. From the Song of Solomon:

The Bride and the Bridegroom

I have compared thee, O my love,

to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels,

thy neck with chains of gold.
We will make thee borders of gold

with studs of silver.
While the King sitteth at his table,

my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me;

he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire

in the vineyards of Enge'di.
Behold, thou art fair, my love;

behold, thou art fair;
thou hast doves' eyes.
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant:

also our bed is green.
The beams of our house are cedar,
and our rafters of fir.

Read it all. It is lovely....

Song of Solomon

Just got back from Chik Fil A and the place was mobbed as usual. Cars for the drive through went around the building and backed up into the parking lot. They had road cones to divert the eat-in customers. I’ve never seen the place slow let alone empty. The chicken strips and peach shake were delicious.

I had the #7 Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich without waffle fries or a coke for lunch.

I always just drove by Chick-Fil-A before the marketing campaign two weeks ago.

Always hear that tale, but nobody ever documents it. Your camera broke?

I'm not pro the CFA stance on SSM but I'll tell you this, in Tallahassee, FL, Lafayette, LA, Charlotte, NC, and Houston, TX, I've always seen CFA's with serious lines. For all except for Charlotte, NC this was before the whole SSM thing became an issue, but they are always full. And the Charlotte stores I've seen have always been very busy.

The thing is that simple examples of one persons experience don't tell the entire story of a nationwide experience. If the quarterly reports or any news organizations show that CFA sales have dropped, that's one thing, but if its just that the store you've seen is empty that doesn't really mean much.

So, in other words you support killing homosexuals in Uganda? Good for you. How many homeless people did you help out today?

You remember that time in the Bible where Jesus stones that women to death, cheered on gluttons, stuffed his face full of food to encourage another persons suffering, and helped a business owner profit so they could donate to organizations that endorse killing people. Oh, wait... no he did the opposite of all that. Good job, you are officially unlike your Christ in every way.

Funny that most Homosexuals, their supporters, and Atheists are more like Jesus in the Bible than most Christians.
